OllzBoutScArVez?

When we talk about scarves it actually can have a few meanings, a scarf could be a long or broad piece of cloth worn about the neck, head, or shoulders for warmth or decoration; muffler, babushka, and neckerchief, or it could be a long, narrow covering for a table, a bureau top, and last but not least it can also be a runner a sash worn by soldiers or officials. Cool isn't it? and all I thought a scarf would be is something to keep my neck warm!

Enough about scarf definitions, I know all of you out there know what a scarf is. Let's get to the point here, I have been knitting and crocheting since I was in primary 3 and I had never thought of making anything for my own self. My mom used to sell the items that she crochet or knits. I helped her make those off course!

We used to stay in Bulolo, Papua New Guinea. If you've been there or know the place you'd understand the environment and what people you have out with each day! All we do is go to school, play golf, go to the market, visit the donger and make bilums!

Now I would like to start something on my own.I did compile a few crochet and knitted items that i managed to create last year. Not too much but good enough for a person who is married and has a fulltime job. Well, I just got married this month so that doesn't count.. Does it? wink wink wink :)

There are so many projects in my mind now but lets focus on scarves for a moment here, I have been on this scarf thingy for some time now. I think more than a month, and due to alot of demand, I have decided to extend the project till further notice. I know on my facebook it says till the end of May but I think I have fallen in love with scarves! hahahaha....

You might have seen some scarves that I made using patterns I found either in books or on the web! What I want to do now is design some on my own. Can I do that? I hope I can... I really want to... Well... I'll try! It doesn't hurt even if you don't succeed right? I don't care. I don't even know how to write my own pattern but who cares!

I have looked through afghan patterns, baby shoe patterns, sweater patterns, hat patterns, accessories patterns, you name it! I still have to learn to write my own patterns! What's the use of designing something when no one else can make it but you! At least share it for the world to make... RiGHt? I think scarves is a good place to start learning to write patterns as it is the easiest to make, no decrease no increase, just lace patterns and cable patterns, unless you have a topsy turvy scarf with all these funny designs or something...

Well before I can start on my own designs I need some ideas. I hope some of you can contribute ideas to help me out. That would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks For reading and please keep posted for the first scarf design from me...
